Americans Sick of 'Chicago Style Politics'

CHICAGO - Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady released the following statement regarding President Obama's "Nationalization" of Mike Madigan's "Chicago-style political playbook:"

"While middle-class Americans are suffering, President Obama’s political pals are “doing fine” – thanks to the billions in taxpayer dollars he has steered their way. President Obama’s political payoffs have cost taxpayers billions of dollars in grants and loan guarantees while failing to create jobs or help middle-class families. As a state senator, President Obama learned directly from Mike Madigan how to reward Democratic donors, putting taxpayers on the hook for the costs."

"Solyndra went bankrupt, costing taxpayers more than $500 million and more than 1,100 workers their jobs. Fisker received half a billion dollars, but it manufactures cars in Finland while its plant in Delaware remains empty. BrightSource Energy received a $1.6 billion loan guarantee after hiring a former top aide to Joe Biden as a lobbyist. First Wind received over half a billion dollars in grants and loans after hiring the lobbying firm run by an Obama bundler and former Biden aide."

"We don’t need four more years of political payoffs, taxpayer giveaways, and cronyism. We need a plan to fix our economy and Mitt Romney is the only candidate who has one."
