WATCH: Pollak Ad: Stop Chicago Corruption
6/30/2010
The Pollak For Congress campaign has released its first web ad in the race for Illinois's 9th congressional district.
The ad targets incumbent Jan Schakowsky, who is promoting the corrupt ShoreBank bailout while ignoring community banks in her own district.
The 35-second ad, entitled "Stop Chicago Corruption," also highlights Pollak's campaign slogan, "A Fresh Start." In the ad, Pollak calls for an end to corrupt bailouts and insider deals.
At the time the ShoreBank rescue was announced, 72 banks had failed in the U.S. and 10 in Illinois since the beginning of 2010. Only ShoreBank received help from Ms. Schakowsky and other Chicago politicians.
Since then, the numbers have increased to 11 banks in Illinois and 86 banks nationwide. The ShoreBank bailout has also stalled, partly because of concerns the Pollak For Congress campaign has raised about corruption.
"We are tired of corrupt insider deals," Pollak said. "We want jobs, not bailouts."
