Alexi's SUV could have paid for college tuition

To put Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias' purchase of a $26,000 SUV with Bright Start College Tuition funds in perspective, below are the annual in-state tuition rates for Illinois students to attend state universities and community colleges.

As you can see, the $26,000 used to buy an SUV for Treasurer Giannoulias' use would have paid for at least one Illinois student to attend any state university this year and would have paid for THREE students to attend Governors State University for one year and would have paid for THIRTEEN students to attend Triton College for one year.
