ILGOP Chairman congratulates Walker - Says his leadership is what’s needed in Illinois
6/5/2012
CHICAGO - This evening Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady issued the following statement congratulating Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on his victory in today’s recall election:
"I would like to congratulate Governor Walker and Lt. Gov. Kleefisch on their victories tonight in Wisconsin. I would also like to thank all of the volunteers from Illinois who traveled to Wisconsin and also the many Illinois Republicans who answered our call to phone from home on our website for their efforts these past few weeks and months who helped make this victory possible."
"Turnout was extremely high during this election, and this only shows one thing: voters are fed up with big spending Democrats running their state governments. Walker's reforms are exactly what Illinois needs right now. Illinois could use more fiscally courageous leaders like Scott Walker and less like Pat Quinn, Mike Madigan and John Cullerton who think the solution to every problem is a tax increase."
"I enjoyed seeing all of the energy from Illinois Republicans over the past few weeks for Scott Walker and I know that energy will carry over to the Illinois Republican State Convention this weekend and to our elections this fall. I look forward to personally congratulating (Republican National Committee Chairman) Reince Priebus on Friday in Tinley Park for all his work in ensuring victory tonight."
