ICYMI: Bobby Schilling up 16 points in new poll over liberal Cheri Bustos
5/30/2012
Last week Public Opinion Strategies conducted a poll of likely voters in the 17th Congressional District of Illinois, which was recently redrawn to favor democrats. Rep. Bobby Schilling holds a 16 point lead over Sen. Durbin's hand picked candidate Cheri Bustos on the ballot in the democrat leaning district (51% Schilling/ 35% Bustos).
More trouble for Bustos: half of the redrawn 17th district is new territory for Rep. Schilling and he is already over 50% on the ballot this early in the race. Cheri Bustos name ID and favorability ratings are noticeably low in a sprawling district that has three media markets (51% name ID, 16% fav).
