Quinn & Co. to blame for 10% unemployment rate
10/21/2011
Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady said that Governor Pat Quinn and his fellow Illinois Democrats are to blame for Illinois’ unemployment rate now reaching 10%, according to a new report from the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
“In less than 10 months, we’ve lost over 100,000 jobs since these tax hikes,” Brady said. “Pat Quinn’s tax hikes are killing Illinois’ economy.”
“Other than to fly around the world on trade missions that bring back a small percentage of the jobs we’ve lost and hand out special tax deals to a select few businesses who are large enough to grab headlines if they leave, Pat Quinn has no economic plan to get us out of this mess,” said Brady.
“As the months go on, more Illinois business owners will be forced to move or lay off even more employees as long as these tax hikes stay in effect,” said Brady. “Tax hikes don’t create jobs.”
