Quinn working on state's unemployment problem - one job at a time
8/30/2011
AP: Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn's Liquor Control Commission has hired a Chicago alderman's daughter as a part-time secretary for $37,570.
Allyson Reboyras was one of three names the Democratic governor's office sent to the commission. Her father is Chicago Alderman Ariel Reboyras.
A Quinn spokeswoman referred questions to the Liquor Commission. Spokeswoman Sue Hofer says commissioners did not consider Reboyras' political ties. She declined to name other applicants for the 24-hour-a-week job.
Quinn has appointed several politically connected people to high-paying or highly visible commission positions this year.
Neither Reboyras nor her father returned messages seeking comment.
