Too many Illinoisans remain out of work thanks to Obama & Quinn

Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady released the following statement on the July unemployment report:

“Today’s unemployment numbers remind us that too many Americans and Illinois residents remain out of work because of President Obama and Washington Democrats’ inability to lead when it comes to the economy. While any job growth is encouraging, the number of Americans who simply gave up looking for work last month is a another indication that this President’s economic policies have driven our economy into the ditch and he has no plan to get us out. While President Obama and Washington Democrats pivot in circles and refuse to take responsibility for their failure to show economic leadership, millions of Americans are still asking where the jobs are. It’s time for President Obama to start creating jobs across America and spend a little less time campaigning to save his own.

“Meanwhile, Illinois suffers even more from the economic woes of America as Pat Quinn and the Democrats preside over the most broke state in America. It seems like every day there is bad news in Illinois on the jobs front, and so often it is a direct result of the 50 percent corporate tax hike enacted by the Democrats earlier this year. At a time when Republican and Democrat Governors across America were cutting taxes to jump-start the economy, Illinois Democrats continue to be completely out of touch - as demonstrated by Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky this week."
